Chimelong Ocean Kingdom
Chimelong Ocean Kingdom on Hengqin Island, next to Macau, is one of the most visited theme parks in the world and the largest marine park anywhere. The rides sit between aquariums: a whale shark exhibit, beluga and polar bear houses, a manatee hall and a penguin habitat. On the ride side are the Parrot Coaster wing coaster, a family penguin coaster, a jungle coaster, a super rapids ride and two rainforest drop towers of different heights. Ride names are shown in Chinese as the park publishes them.
Because it draws day trips from Macau, Zhuhai and the wider Pearl River Delta, weekends and Chinese public holidays get very busy, while ordinary weekdays are much more relaxed. Check the live wait times before you go and use the crowd calendar to choose a quieter date.

Universal Studios Beijing opened in 2021 in the Tongzhou district on the east side of the city and is the largest Universal park by area. It has the Universal staples of Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, Flight of the Hippogriff, Transformers: Battle for the AllSpark and Jurassic World Adventure, plus rides built only for Beijing: the Decepticoaster launched coaster and the Kung Fu Panda land with Journey of the Dragon Warrior. Lights, Camera, Action! is a stage-effects show.
Attendance follows the Chinese holiday calendar, so the first week of October and the Lunar New Year are the times to steer clear of, while ordinary winter weekdays can be very quiet. Check the live queue times before you go and use the crowd calendar to find a date when the Potter rides are a short wait.
