About each park

Gardaland

Gardaland is Italy's largest theme park, sitting on the south-eastern shore of Lake Garda in Castelnuovo del Garda. The park has been running since 1975 and now includes a full resort with two hotels and a separate Sea Life aquarium. Major rides include Oblivion – The Black Hole, Blue Tornado, Mammut, and Raptor - all packed into a well-themed, pedestrian-friendly footprint.

Gardaland's season runs roughly April to early January, with the busiest periods during Italian summer school holidays and the Magic Halloween and Magic Winter events. Weekdays in June and September are dramatically quieter. Check live queue times before tackling Oblivion and Raptor, and use our crowd calendar to plan around Italy's busy holiday weekends.

Mirabilandia

Mirabilandia is one of Italy's biggest theme parks, sitting near Ravenna on the Adriatic coast. It opened in 1992 and now runs a strong coaster line-up including Katun (one of Europe's longest inverted coasters), iSpeed (a launched Intamin), Divertical (at one time the world's tallest water coaster), and Desmo Race. A separate water park (Mirabeach) operates on the same site during summer.

Italian summer is Mirabilandia's peak period - June through early September draws the heaviest crowds, particularly on weekends and around Ferragosto (15 August). May and late September are much quieter while still catching warm weather. Check live queue times for Katun and iSpeed first thing in the morning, and use our crowd calendar to plan around Italian holiday weekends.

Common questions

Which is better, Gardaland or Mirabilandia?

It depends on what you're after. Gardaland and Mirabilandia both appeal to different crowds - this page shows live queue times, ride counts and opening hours side by side so you can judge against your own priorities. Generally: go for the park with shorter average waits today if you want to maximise rides, and pick on theme/nostalgia if you're splitting a longer trip across both.

Which has shorter queues, Gardaland or Mirabilandia?

Queues change hour by hour. Right now the live data above shows the average wait at both parks and the longest/shortest live queues. Mid-week visits outside school holidays give the shortest queues at either park. Use the Gardaland best time to visit and Mirabilandia best time to visit tools to pick a quiet day.

Can I visit Gardaland and Mirabilandia in the same trip?

Yes - both parks are in Italy, so a two-park trip is realistic over a long weekend. Split the days so you start at whichever opens earliest and drive to the other in the evening.

How many rides does each park have?

See the live data above for today's ride counts - or jump to Gardaland and Mirabilandia for the full ride lists.

Is Gardaland bigger than Mirabilandia?

Park size is less useful than how many rides you can actually get on in a day - that comes down to queue times and opening hours. The comparison above shows ride counts and live wait times for both.
