Hansa-Park
Hansa-Park sits on the Baltic coast at Sierksdorf, between Lübeck and Kiel in northern Germany, and is the country's only theme park by the sea. It is themed on the Hanseatic League of medieval trading towns, and its signature ride is The Oath of KÄRNAN, a 73 metre hypercoaster with a backwards drop inside its tower. Alongside it are the launched Escape of Novgorod, the classic Nessie looping coaster and a large family section with Crazy Mine and the Midgard Serpent.
The park's season runs from spring to the autumn holidays, and its busiest days come when Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein are on holiday together. Check the live queue times before you set off and use the crowd calendar to find a quieter weekday, when KÄRNAN is often a short wait.

Phantasialand sits in Brühl, North Rhine-Westphalia, just outside Cologne. It's widely regarded as one of the most beautifully themed parks in the world - compact but intensely detailed, with rides like Taron and Raik winding through the Klugheim basalt-rock land, F.L.Y. launching through Rookburgh, Chiapas flume through Mexico, and Black Mamba inverted coaster tearing above the Deep in Africa area.
Because Phantasialand packs huge ride hardware into a small footprint, queue times build fast on busy days - the park often posts 60+ minute waits on Taron and F.L.Y. by late morning.
