LEGOLAND Florida sits in Winter Haven, about 45 minutes south-west of Orlando, on the site of the old Cypress Gardens. It's pitched at families with kids 2-12 and has a full LEGO-themed line-up: The Dragon castle coaster, Coastersaurus, the LEGO Movie World area, and a separate water park during warmer months. A smaller Peppa Pig Theme Park operates next door as a separate admission.

Because LEGOLAND Florida is less crowded than the big Orlando parks, queue times stay manageable most of the year - but holiday weeks and LEGO convention weekends can push waits up sharply. Worlds of Fun is a theme park in Kansas City, Missouri, opened in 1973 and now run under the Six Flags banner. The park covers 235 acres with themed areas based on continents and a varied coaster line-up: Mamba (a 205-foot Morgan hyper coaster), Prowler (a GCI wooden coaster), Patriot (an inverted coaster), and Timber Wolf. An Oceans of Fun water park operates on the same site in summer.

Kansas City school holidays and the Halloween Haunt drive Worlds of Fun's peak crowds, particularly weekend days in July, August and October. Weekdays in May, September and early October are much quieter.
