About each park

Parc Asterix

Parc Astérix is a French theme park in Plailly, about 35 km north of Paris, themed around the Asterix comics. It opened in 1989 and is now one of France's biggest parks - highlights include OzIris (an inverted coaster through Egyptian theming), Tonnerre 2 Zeus (a large wooden coaster), Pegase Express, Goudurix, and the newer Toutatis double-launch coaster.

French school holidays - particularly the summer break in July and August - drive most of Parc Astérix's peak crowds, along with the Peur sur le Parc Halloween event. Midweek days in June and September are much calmer. Check live queue times for Toutatis and OzIris on arrival, and use our crowd calendar to plan your visit around French school holidays for shorter waits.

Walibi Rhone Alpes

Walibi Rhône-Alpes sits in Les Avenières in eastern France, roughly between Lyon and Chambéry. It's a mid-sized thrill park with notable rides including Timber (a Rocky Mountain Construction wooden coaster), Mystic (a Mack launch coaster), and the Radja River rapids ride. A separate Walibi Aquatic Park water area operates during the summer season.

French school holidays - particularly the Lyon region's summer break - drive peak attendance. The Halloween Frayeurs Sur le Parc event also pulls heavy weekend crowds. Midweek days in May, June and September are much calmer. Check live queue times for Timber on arrival, and use our crowd calendar to pick a quieter date for shorter waits on the headline rides.
