About Hex - The Legend of the Towers
About Hex - The Legend of the Towers
Hex - The Legend of the Towers is the indoor dark ride housed inside the original Alton Towers manor house. The pre-show tells the legend of the chained oak and the curse on the Earl of Shrewsbury, and the main ride itself is an enclosed rotating-room experience that gives the illusion of barrel-rolling without the riders actually inverting. Total experience around 8 minutes including pre-show.
Hex tends to keep queues short because of its high theatrical capacity - large groups load every few minutes. Even on the busiest days, waits rarely exceed 20 minutes. Worth riding at least once for the theming alone, especially if you are interested in the actual history of the Towers building.
