About Spinball Whizzer
Spinball Whizzer is a Maurer Sohne spinning coaster at Alton Towers, opened in 2004 in the Cred Street area. Each four-person car spins freely on its base as it travels the layout, so every ride is different depending on weight distribution. Top speed 28 mph and three short helices - the experience is dizziness rather than airtime.
Spinball is a strong family pick because of its lower height requirement and tame top speed. Queues are usually under 25 minutes even on busy days. Pair an unbalanced car (heavier side at the back) for the most aggressive spin.
Spinball Whizzer has averaged about 28 minutes of wait over recent weeks, and is typically busiest around 3pm and quietest around 7pm. Over the last two weeks it has been open around 35% of the park's operating hours. It's typically quietest on Tuesdays and busiest on Saturdays.
