Vampire

Vampire at Chessington World of Adventures is a suspended swinging coaster opened in 1990, with carriages that hang below the track and swing freely as the train moves. The original ride had organ music piped through speakers in the swinging cars - a feature that was removed in a later refurbishment. Top speed 45 mph, ride duration about 90 seconds. Layout is gentle by modern coaster standards but the swing motion creates surprising airtime.

Vampire is consistently among the most popular family thrill rides at the park because of its lower height limit and signature theming. Queues are usually 30-50 minutes mid-day. Worth riding for the nostalgia value - the queue line and station are heavily themed and largely unchanged since the early 1990s.
