About Big Thunder Mountain

Big Thunder Mountain at Disneyland Park (Paris) is a mine-train coaster opened with the resort in 1992, themed to a runaway train through a Wild West gold rush mining settlement. The Paris version is unique among Disney Big Thunders in that the lift hill is underground, with the train emerging from a tunnel onto an island in the resort's central lake. Top speed 65 km/h, three drops, ride duration about 4 minutes.

Big Thunder is one of the most popular family coasters at Disneyland Park - queues commonly hit 50-80 minutes on busy days. Premier Access (paid) is available. The back row delivers the most aggressive sense of speed; the front gives the best view of the theming.
